Fatima Alam
Experience: Fatima Alam brings 14+ years of experience across software engineering, management consulting, investment banking, and enterprise product strategy, which allows her to move comfortably between technical detail and executive judgment. She specializes in decision architecture — designing the leadership decision forums, operating cadences, and planning cycles organizations need to navigate rapid change.
At UKG, a $5B workforce-management platform with a 1,400-person engineering organization, Fatima designed and ran the operating cadence through the $22B Ultimate–Kronos merger and led a redesign of the product operating model across 39 products that delivered $20M in annual savings and a 10% efficiency improvement. She also chaired UKG's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Guild for three years, focused on where a given tool genuinely earns its place and where it does not. Her years in workforce and human capital management (HCM) product strategy mean she is fluent in how salaried and hourly employees experience the same system change differently, and she designs discovery accordingly.
Fatima has led large system implementations in live operating environments, including end-to-end delivery of a global point-of-sale (POS) platform for a $1B+ retail brand. Today she works as a transformation and innovation strategist, most recently leading the global digital transformation across international retail operations for David Yurman. She sits on the Harvard Business Review (HBR) Advisory Council, contributing practitioner perspectives on the future of work, and serves on the board of The Lioness Instincts, a nonprofit that teaches women how to protect themselves in both the digital and physical world.
Education: Fatima holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She also holds a certificate in artificial intelligence (AI) and business strategy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
