Lily Mathews
Experience: Lily brings over a decade of experience as a strategist, researcher, and facilitator working at the intersection of public systems, healthcare, and civic innovation. She specializes in strategic planning, stakeholder insights, and technology adoption—helping mission-driven institutions modernize their operations and services while keeping staff and community needs at the center.
Most recently, she spent five years with the nation’s largest public library system guiding research on organizational adaptation to emerging technology. During this time, she supported the pilot of the library’s first AI research tool, designed staff training and adoption frameworks, and evaluated digital humanities platforms.
Earlier in her career, Lily managed international corporate partnerships and experiential learning programs for a social impact nonprofit, and honed her service design and product strategy approach at a Scandinavian-American design consultancy. As a consultant, she’s led strategic planning workshops for a leading arts college, conducted qualitative research for a university healthcare system rebrand, and managed cross-sector brand and product strategy initiatives for technology and transportation clients.
Distinctly shaped by her background in theater production and playwriting, Lily’s methodology applies a deep understanding of group dynamics, subtext, and narrative to cultivate psychological safety and foster authentic alignment among cross-functional teams. She equips leaders and public agencies with the qualitative insights, adaptive tools, and strategic clarity needed to successfully navigate institutional change.
Education: Lily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.
Skills: Qualitative design research, technology adoption and AI readiness, strategic planning, workshop design and facilitation, service design, civic innovation, stakeholder engagement and consensus building, project and partnership management, learning design and curriculum development, event production.
Equilibrium is: Producing works for new artists with my theater collective; getting my hands dirty in the garden; chasing my toddler; creating spaces—on stage, in gardens, or at work—where people thrive together.
